The challenge
Aqueos was running on an early-2000s system to manage hazards and risks for underwater diving work in the oil industry. It was slow, clunky, and standing in the way of real safety improvements.

The approach
Modern Backend Architecture
We built a completely new backend from scratch. Using NextJS and modern development practices, we delivered a platform engineered for reliability and performance. About 250,000 lines of code.

The solution
Safety Management Tools
The new system gives Aqueos real tools for diver safety: hazard identification, risk assessment, activity tracking, and compliance documentation, all in one place. It's the kind of infrastructure this work has always needed.
The impact
- 01
Projected to save 10,000+ hours annually
- 02
Better management of hazards, risks, and diving activities
- 03
Modernized mission-critical safety infrastructure
Developing software for mission-critical applications like diver safety demands precision and reliability. The Aqueos project showcases Ingenia's ability to deliver complex, large-scale solutions under tight timelines, ensuring safety and efficiency where it matters most.

Building Mission-Critical Software
We started by understanding what diver safety management actually looks like in a demanding offshore environment. Our team studied the limitations of the old system and mapped Aqueos' real operational needs.
Then we built the new backend from the ground up. Modern development practices, NextJS framework, and a focus on scalability. Roughly 250,000 lines of code, delivered in under 12 months.
What Aqueos has now is a platform built for the job. Safety protocols are stronger. Operations are tighter. And we demonstrated what Ingenia can do when the stakes are this high.
